Hands on history BBC comic dandy font

BBC – Hands on History

I was Googling my own fonts (who doesn't) and after scrolling through 3 or 4 pages I see the question "Which font does BBC use for their Hands on History logo?" I was specifically searching for "comic dandy font", so my first thought was like "No, that can't be!?". But there was the answer:

"It's Comic Dandy by Davy Meykens, BBC chose to add in counters again."

I was truly amazed that a huge company like BBC chose my font for one of their projects! Of course I tried to contact them, but unfortunately they didn't got back to me... Hold your horses!! I'm still going to brag about it! :)

Comic Dandy, different from what I expected

I designed Comic Dandy more as a grungy, alternative kind of font, but BBC used it in a very different way. It has a playful, almost childish feel to it. Regarding the target audience it makes sense of course, and I love it! I didn't expect the font showing up this way at all. I can only say that I hope to stumble upon other designs and creations that use my font in ways I don't expect ...
